The Public Service Management Division (PSMD) is an institution of Government that falls under the Office of the President. It is charged with the overall responsibility of Human Resource Management in the Public Service.
According to Gazette Notice No. 183 of 2012, on Statutory Functions and Composition of Government Portfolios, the Division’s Portfolio Functions include:
Public Service Management;
Human Resource Management and Development; and
Strategic and Performance Management Services.
In line with its Portfolio Functions, PSMD is mandated to undertake the following:
Recruitment and Placement of Human Resources;
Human Resource Development;
Human Resource Information Management and Planning;
Formulation and Interpretation of Terms and Conditions of Service;
Payroll Management and Establishment Control;
Strategic and Performance Management Services; and
Developing, and coordinating implementation, of Records Management policies and systems in the Public Service.
